Expectations
The Expectation documents below show what pupils are expected to do in Reading, Writing, Oracy and Numeracy in each Year Group. Not all children will be working at their yearly expectations. Some will be able to do work set for the year above, whilst others may be working at the expectation set for the year below. Teachers will ensure that their pupils will be given work to challenge them whatever their ability, in line with the our school motto –“Only my best is good enough for me”.

All children in Wales take end of year tests when they are in year 2 to year 6. These tests will be given to your child/children in May and you will receive the results before the summer holidays. Please make sure your child is here to take them as this is essential to measure their year on year progress.
The following sample tests in reading and numeracy also give you examples of the sort of questions your child/children will be answering when they sit the National tests in Wales.
