If a child makes an allegation of a child protection nature or staff have serious safeguarding concerns we have a legal duty to report it. There is a process which we have to follow and although this maybe upsetting for all involved the process is there to protect all children and or adults. Once a referral has been made it may result in a strategy meeting between multi-agency professionals (STRAT.)
