Parental Information

This information was shared with parents during open evenings based on Numeracy and Literacy in Litchard Primary School. Please open the Powerpoint below which will help you understand how to use the following documents.

The Expectation documents below show what pupils are expected to do in Reading, Writing, Oracy and Numeracy in each Year Group. Not all children will be working at their yearly expectations. Some will be able to do work set for the year above, whilst others may be working at the expectation set for the year below. Teachers will ensure that their pupils will be given work to challenge them whatever their ability, in line with the our school motto –“Only my best is good enough for me”.

The Sample Tests in Reading and Numeracy also give you examples of the sort of questions your child(ren) will be answering when they sit the National tests in Wales. These tests will be given to your child(ren) in May and you will receive the results before the Summer Holidays. Please make sure your child is here to take them as this is essential to measure their year on year progress.

Please go to “Fun and Games” area of our web site for ideas of how to help your child(ren).

If you want more information please ask your child’s teacher.
